THE COMMISSIONING OF THE BARBADOS NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTION’S METROLOGY LABORATORY

THE COMMISSIONING OF THE BARBADOS NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTION’S METROLOGY LABORATORY

The Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI) and the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards & Quality (CROSQ), will be hosting a celebratory ceremony for the BNSI National Metrology Laboratory, Culloden Road, St. Michael, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 10 a.m. AST.

This commissioning follows significant upgrades by the BNSI and the Government of Barbados, to retrofit the national measurement laboratory, as supported by the Caribbean Development Bank’s EPA and CSME Standby Facility for the Capacity Building project entitled “Strengthening of the Regional Quality Infrastructure Programme in Barbados, Dominica, and St. Kitts and Nevis”, in outfitting the laboratory with additional equipment.

This hour-long event will be attended by media. It will also officially signal the opening of the laboratory to the business community and introduce the sector to the new services of the institution, some of which were made possible by the generous support of the European Union through the CARIFORUM and CDB offices. The programme will commemorate the strategic partnerships responsible for this development. Live remarks will be delivered during the brief ceremony, followed by a brief ribbon cutting ceremony to declare the laboratory open. The entire event will be also streamed live online to local and regional viewers.
